Alersweiler has 2000 inhabitants and an area of 10,9 km², it was first documentally mentioned in 1065 as "Albrahteswilre".

Albersweiler has several noble houses from the 18th century, especially in the main street. The two neo romanesque churches where built in the middle of the 19th century by the bavarian master builder August von Voth.

The little rococo palace (Rokoko Schloesschen) was built by Fuerst Thomas von Loewenstein in 1764.
