Altdorf has 750 inhabitants and an area of 6,4 km². It was first documentally mentioned in 991.

The protestant church with its baroque nave from 1772 has a tower from late gothic times.

The former rectory is a timbered house from the 16th century, the former town hall a timbered house built in 1583.
