Bobenheim has 830 inhabitants and an area of 6,3 km². It was first documentally mentioned in the 8th century as "Babenheim".

The protestant church of St. Maria was built in the 13th and rebuilt in the 15th century.

The catholic church of Saint Nicholas is a baroque nave type church from the late 18th century.
