Weisenheim am Berg has 1700 inhabitants and an area of 9,2 km². It was first documentally mentioned in 771 as "Wizzinheim".

The protestant church is a gothic building from about 1300, the choir bears wall paintings from about 1380, the nave was reconstructed in the 19th century.

Weisenheim am Berg has numerous remarkable timbered vintner buildings from the 16th to the 19th century.
